Ike Iheanacho

Formerly a hospital doctor, Ike has more than 18 years’ experience as a medical reviewer, writer and editor, specializing in the production of evidence-based reviews. He spent seven years as editor of Drug and Therapeutics Bulletin, a publication providing rigorous evaluations of, and practical advice on, pharmaceuticals, non-drug treatments and the overall management of disease. This work included leading an editorial team of doctors and pharmacists, as well as having overall responsibility for editorial strategy, policy, standards and content (including more than 200 reviews and editorials published during his editorship).

Ike also has been a columnist and reviewer for the BMJ (formerly the British Medical Journal) and has extensive experience producing evidence-based material aimed at the general public, through acting as editor-in chief and medical adviser on Treatment Notes, a patient information series. He acted as an adviser to the U.K. parliament’s Heath Select Committee during its inquiry on patient safety, having been a witness to the same committee during inquiries on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and on the pharmaceutical industry.

Ike holds an intercalated BSc in biomedical science and an MB BS with distinction, both from the University of London, U.K.
