I joined Evidera, then UBC, while transitioning from academia. I evaluated a couple of consulting firms in the HEOR space. One of my criteria was that the firm offers a mix of sound scientific research and client-facing roles. My initial list was quickly narrowed down to a few firms, with Evidera at the top of the list. Each project or engagement is a platform to combine my clinical background with varied interests in HEOR, statistics and epidemiology. My daily work is very interesting, dynamic and intellectually stimulating, just the way I like it. You can’t beat the opportunity to collaborate with clients in a wide range of therapeutic areas. I have had the unique opportunity to improve on my leadership skills — whether it’s leading a project team or co-leading a product development team. The ability to make significant contributions toward medicine and healthcare in general while influencing healthcare policy is gratifying. Working on projects that directly and positively impact patients; that is golden.
I came to the fast-paced consulting environment at Evidera from academia and non-profit research and found the best of both worlds. Evidera has a dynamic, exciting, and stimulating work culture. Staff are involved in cutting-edge projects with high-profile clients and Evidera scientists are leaders in the field. While projects can last for years in the academic world, the quick timelines of outcomes research projects let staff take a project from start to finish, which is rewarding. The Evidera staff are also what makes it such a unique and fulfilling job. I’m exposed to some of the top experts in the field who are on hand to mentor staff and collaborate on project work. I have grown with Evidera (through four positions) and am continually challenged. Every day presents something new and different and I’m constantly learning and growing in my role.
I started working for Evidera in 2014 and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I have been blessed to work with so many wonderful people that have all been quite an inspiration. From my perspective, Evidera is a great company to work for because of its diverse culture, talented people, and collaborative nature. I feel very fortunate to be a part of such a great company.
Working at Evidera is an ideal combination for me between using my knowledge to perform tasks that I am familiar with, exploring new approaches and methodologies constantly, and a high level of intellectual stimulation in order to always provide optimal solutions to our clients. My job is very stimulating because of the intellectual challenges, continual learning, and progressively increasing levels of responsibility. At the same time it remains fulfilling as I get to work daily with world-class scientists to face challenges and deliver for our clients. What is particularly remarkable and enjoyable is the very dynamic and positive atmosphere within the company at all times, even when confronted with strong demands and tight timelines. Dealing on a daily basis not only with the scientific work but also with team and client management, as well as internal and external communication, offers, I believe, an excellent means to develop a complete set of skills that will be essential throughout one’s career.
Evidera employees endeavour to provide the best set of skills, expertise and the most adapted management methods to be successful in helping and guiding our clients along the road to their success. It is utterly rewarding to bring satisfaction to our clients and, of course, to know that patients will be the ultimate beneficiary of our joint efforts.
What strikes me about my colleagues at Evidera is just how bright and hardworking they are. Everyone has mutual respect for each other and there is a high degree of professionalism that makes a huge difference to my working day. I have learnt a huge amount in my time here so far and my learning continues daily. What I am incredibly grateful for at Evidera is that they have helped me to continue my professional development. I recently have been accepted on a doctorate course and they have supported me every step of the way. The skills and knowledge I have gained from working here will assist me immensely on the doctorate course and vice versa. I look forward to applying the competencies I will gain in my doctorate directly back into my position here. When we are not working, I am fortunate enough to enjoy the social side of Evidera. Many of the members of the London office and I participated in the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge. As team captain of the 5.6km charity run it is a great way to bond with my colleagues in a less formal way, whilst also taking part in a healthy activity that benefits good causes. My time here so far has been hugely rewarding to me in so many ways and I look forward to this continuing in the future.
I became part of the Evidera team shortly after completing my undergraduate career. Although I was unsure exactly which field I would be interested in, I knew that I wanted to apply the research skills I gained at university. At Evidera, I gained a lot of knowledge about the field of health economics and healthcare in general and I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different projects and different disease areas, ranging from oncology to infectious diseases. Although the flexibility to choose what types of projects you want to be involved in is great, the thing I enjoy the most is the opportunity to learn something new every day.
I joined Evidera with more than five years of work experience in both academia and consultancy. I joined Evidera because I knew there would be opportunities for career development and to learn from other scientists and experts in the field. Even after five years of working here, I’m still learning from my colleagues. At Evidera, I’m able to work across different types of literature reviews, including network meta-analyses and disease areas. I continue to enjoy the type of work I do here and still see many more opportunities for career development.
