Karen leads a U.S.-based market access communications team, with a focus on value story development, global value dossiers, and AMCP dossiers. Prior to joining Evidera, Karen served as medical director at Custom Learning Designs (CLD), an agency that develops educational materials for medical science liaisons and pharmaceutical sales representatives. She has worked extensively in medical communications, with particular expertise in oncology, hematology, immunology, and infectious disease.
Prior to joining CLD, Karen worked as a drug discovery scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where she focused on target validation for a kinase inhibitor program, and Praecis Pharmaceuticals, where she worked on identifying lead compounds for an HIV program. Earlier in her career she conducted postdoctoral research at New England Biolabs. Karen earned a PhD in biological chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where her thesis research related to the development of mechanism-based assays for screening the anticancer activity of platinum agents. She also holds a BA in chemistry from Princeton University.
