Martina Kovac
Martina serves as vice president, global product development – vaccines lead. In this role, she is responsible for providing medical and scientific consulting services focused on vaccine development strategies.
Martina brings more than a decade of scientific leadership expertise in global development of prophylactic and therapeutic vaccines, with extensive experience leading innovative, complex, and high priority vaccine development programs through all development stages (Phase I-IV). She has broad clinical experience in vaccine development supporting variety of vaccine candidates and technologies, indications and target populations (pediatric, adolescence, maternal immunization, older adults and immunocompromised) and in leading large cross-functional vaccine development teams.
Prior to joining PPD in 2020, she held various scientific leadership roles of increasing responsibility in vaccine development since 2007 at GlaxoSmithKline Vaccines, most recently as director, vaccine development lead. During her last years, she led the global Phase III development program for herpes zoster vaccine with successful regulatory submissions in multiple regions, followed by product registration and global launch with post-licensure and life-cycle management activities.
Martina received her medical degree from the Jagiellonian University School of Medicine in Krakow, Poland, and holds an active license to practice medicine in Belgium.
